Our Story
About Kamanakoa Apparel
KĀMANAKOA Apparel started fairly simple — we needed gear for the youth and high school football teams I was coaching. I was never planning for t-shirts to become such a big part of our day. We just needed team jerseys and gear to keep up with the other money schools in our league.
Over time, it became much more than that. What started as a side hustle — a couple thousand shirts a year — turned into an obsession. Chasing the perfect tee, the perfect fit, and building gear that actually delivers. This brand has fed my family, served the community, and become part of how we live.
The KĀMANAKOA name is partially inspired by my wife’s family and Hawaiian roots — they’re from Oʻahu and still there today. That connection to Hawai‘i, combined with my lifelong obsession with football, weightlifting, island strength, tradition, and pride — all of that helped shape what this brand stands for.
Since 2015, KĀMANAKOA has grown into something that honors warriors of all kinds — past and present. From tribal chiefs and battlefield guardians to veterans, athletes, and everyday people who show up and do the work. The warrior spirit isn’t tied to one place or culture — it’s in all of us.
Founded by a U.S. military veteran, KĀMANAKOA is grounded in discipline, grit, and purpose. Every piece we make is built to move, built to last, and built with meaning. Our collections reflect global warrior heritage — Polynesian, Spartan, Native, Norse, Samurai, and military — not to copy, but to carry those values forward with respect.
This isn’t just apparel. It’s a way of life.
